Even though the federal government is shutdown... the post office doesn't skip a beat 'cause its operating budget isn't funded by federal tax dollars. Instead, the post office earns it's pennies and dollars from you and me. Every time we mail a letter, postcard, or ship a package, we support the US Postal Service.
But the point of this post isn't to educate you on the workings of government agencies. Instead, I'm writing this post to save you a few pennies and dollars. The U.S. Postal Office will raise the "Forever" stamp prices this January 27th, 2019 from 50 cents to 55 cents. If you're old like me and still write letters; you'd better run down to your local Post Office and pick up a couple of pounds of stamps. That's a 10% increase for those who can't do math! What a phenomenal rate of return if you buy them before the 27th!
