With coronavirus in full effect with no slowdown in Cali, it's been a huge adjustment. Because of 6 feet social distancing rules and mask wearing you pretty much have to distance yourself unless you want to risk being put on a ventilator.
So not only is it mandatory to do things yourself, but that means no more eating out, getting haircuts, partying, asking for home help, etc. Which means you got to do everything yourself. These days, I've been cleaning, fixing, hair cutting, cooking, and doing everything I possibly can to pass the time and save some pennies. But one thing I've noticed while looking for home repair tips is that the internet and web has gotten worse because of search engine optimization. No longer are the top links helpful or what you're actually looking for. It's all these sites who just game the system or are trying to sell stuff. It's pretty sad because it reminds me of yahoo back in the day and when google was really good at finding what you need. Google has gone to s***. You can definitely re-finance all your fixed costs such as mortgages, car loans, private student loans, personal loans, HELOCs, etc. Since the federal reserve cut rates to 0, rates have gone down, but so much, since everybody is looking for reduced financing. Banks have become picky and only loan out at rates where they profit as well. Other things to do would be stay at home with puzzles, board games, and virtual Zoom parties. Saving money on alcohol with just drinking at home with your friends instead of paying a possible cover charge and expensive drinks. Buying legos and building them at home or playing videogames with your friends should save on your entertainment budget as well. Doing your own yard work would save money and get you some exercise as well. With this recession spreading to all other industries, it's best to save as much as possible cause you don't know how long your job can last. With spending down except for the basic necessities, it just makes financial sense to spend less and save for a rainy day.
