Recently, I was part of an interesting dinner experience where I noticed how people treat each other. This experience allowed me to recall the times in my life where I was treated like crap or didn't like how I was treated that caused me to cut ties or limit my exposure. I think at all these times, there was a point when my morals were being compromised or that I was fed up being treated a certain way. A gut feeling sparked, simmered, and eventually erupted that caused my neurons to fire thoughts in my brain where I realized that it just wasn't worth it anymore. It led me to find another way or opportunity. As one gets older and gains wisdom, there are times where you realize that it is just not worth putting up with certain people or companies. Whether, I felt that I didn't want to waste my time or my belief that actions went against my principles, these times made me realize that life is too short to put up with BS. For example, I quit Facebook after realizing that their main MO is to sell your data to advertisers. They don't really believe in their mission of "Connecting the World and People." What they really want to do is profit off you using their application. Their goal is to make their application as addictive as possible. Did the Cambridge Analytical scandal really have to occur for the American consumer to realize this? Same with Google with their cover-up motto of "Don't Be Evil." Google plays the same game of putting lipstick on a pig and calling it a super model. Lies, lies and more lies. What about the recent hack of Google Plus where Google withheld the information that Google Plus had been breached and your private information was accessible for years? Cover-ups. It's sad that we have to put up with this BS, since Gmail is used by almost everyone and YouTube personalities make a living creating videos. At least Apple is straight up and charges you a whole paycheck for their products. That way they don't have to sell all your personal information or data to third parties for advertising. Unfortunately, our society has to put up with these corporations or people who have dishonest intentions. What ever happened to this world that valued honesty, trustworthiness, and responsibility for one's actions? Whether its putting up with an questionable boss, greedy corporation, or untrustworthy friend, it is truly sad that there are times when we have to put up with them to live our lives... any personal stories are welcome!
